There's a lot that seems out of place in a drum kit. Resonant Blaze: I had a bad first impression of this one. These sorts of sounds are not exactly hard to find I already have several Goldbaby sample sets and other sources of classic electro drums. Overall I find it well-made, useful, but less inspiring and impressive than Electric Vice. ) I would swear some of the kits are sampled directly from an 808. (And if you don't, I'm not sure I want to talk to you, heh. Transistor Punch: if you like 80s drum machines, this has that style. It sounds big and has a wonderful feel to it. Almost all the kits are great and I just want to finger drum with them for several minutes and write songs around them. I'm kind of moving into a post-dubstep / future garage area in general now though.Įlectric Vice: it has some hard-hitting kicks, great drum sounds overall, and the non-drum samples/bass/stabs are generally very useable. So I don't tend to think about the dance floor or vocals, and I'm not shy about getting weird. I have Electric Vice, Transistor Punch, and Resonant Blaze.įor perspective, I come from a background of blending ambient, glitch, IDM, and industrial/powernoise sounds, and I used to play jazz keyboards and then taiko drumming (and "the father of modern taiko", Daihachi Oguchi, was a jazz drummer). NI could keep making these things forever if they do it right. Just need to make them more well-rounded than all electronic-based, IMO. I love what NI has done with the expansions, to me, it puts Maschine above Logic, FL and other DAWs because it constantly makes the sound fresh and gives inspiration. Or, an Orchestral pack similar to their "Action Strings" set, that has swells, runs, phrases, that is more catered to songs rather than film scenes.

How about some packs that are not all drum and generic massive-preset based? Like a "Classic 50's rock" pack with some organs, band sounds, vintage guitar runs and phrases from styles and instruments of that era. My only wish is that NI would not just do massive presets with the packs and give us more original instrument presets like they did with the earlier packs. I will say it seems the expansions are getting better over time as far as quality of kits/patterns. I do mainly R&B/Pop/Hip-hop stuff, so the ones I use the most often tend to beĥ)Electric Vice/Drop Squad.(My go to for EDM/Pop tracks) maybe get that next month since I got a spare coupon good till next month. Probaly gonna pass on Resonant Blade or what ever its called. I'll let you know what I thin of Halcyon Sky I think I might by it right now. True school is so so its kind of underground hip hop styles … nice for "organic" style samples. Transistor punch and Vintage Heat work well together for "new wave" sounds but not exactly new wave analog style thick synths etc. Static frictions is is similar to Puls werk in someways those are the two good guys for new house music Pulse work is great on the underground tech house side a bit minimal Platinum bounce got really good pop or hip hop drums and toms Lazer Dice gots great sub hits and bright samples and sounds.

The rest for me are highly usable because the kits all got great drums and percussions.ĭark pressure got goode house music drums they are a bit bottom heavy and subbyĭrop Squad got good kicks and fat snares. True School or Conant Gardens mainly because I don't dabble in the super slow beats much unless its just to gel out and have fun but never nothing serious. Raw Voltage cause its pretty gritty and dirty and Im trying to clean up my mixes most of the time not add too much dirt… if that makes sense and now that I actually write that in words it almost doesn't but anyway.Ģ. but 2 worst for me which is hard to really say because basically they are good but just don't suit my needs too much would be …ġ. I don't have the 2 new ons but might pick up Halcyon Sky in a couple days or less.
